Our story
Hive started the way family tools should: with a mother who couldn't find one that understood her.
Every pregnancy app Juliet tried treated her like she was doing this alone — week numbers and fruit-sized babies, none of it built for the people around her. Meanwhile the actual family lived in a group chat: the same question asked five times, the important update buried under reactions, and mom as the switchboard for all of it.
The care itself was the part nobody had designed for. Who fed the baby last, and on which side? When was the last wet diaper? Has anyone started the bath? The answers lived in the head of the most exhausted person in the house.
So we built the app she wished existed. Juliet — mom, creator, and the voice of Hive — shaped what it should feel like: warm, calm, and honest about how newborn life actually runs. Alisher — engineer and screenwriter — built it: private by design and fast when your hands are full. The result is a hive: the mother at the center, her circle around her, everyone seeing exactly what helps.
A newborn's life doesn't belong on the open internet. Your hive is visible only to the people you invite, each with a role that fits — and you can export or delete everything, anytime.
Every screen assumes a baby in one arm. One-tap nursing timers, voice logging, Siri, widgets — the app meets you at 3am, not the other way around.
The mother sees everything and carries less. Everyone else — partner, grandparents, friends, surrogate, nanny — gets exactly what helps them help her.

A note on our name: a few other organizations use “Hive Family” in theirs, including Hive Family Collective, a nonprofit we admire. We're a separate company — an iOS app at hivefamilyapp.com.
