Private by Design

Hive holds your baby's first photos, your family's quietest hours, and the notes you write at 3am. We don't think of that as data. We think of it as your family. This page is our promise about how we treat it — in plain English. The full legal version lives in our Privacy Policy, and everything below is consistent with it.

Invite-only, always

Nothing in a hive is public. There are no public profiles, no discovery feed, no strangers. Only the people you invite can see anything at all — and role-based permissions let you decide exactly what each person sees and does. Grandma can cheer for every photo without seeing the diaper log; a night nurse can log feeds without browsing your memories.

No ads. Ever.

There are no advertisements in Hive and there never will be. Your feed is your family, not a marketplace. We will never let an algorithm study your baby to sell you things.

We never sell your data

Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to "partners." Baby-tracking apps have leaked and monetized family data before; we built Hive so our business model never depends on it. When Hive makes money, it will be because families choose to pay for premium features — never because your information changed hands.

How voice logging works

Voice logging uses Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device, language, and settings, Apple may process audio on its servers. Hive does not require on-device recognition and does not keep audio recordings. Quick-log text is parsed on your device, and the care entry you confirm is saved to your Hive. Messages you send to the AI assistant, including dictated text and conversation history, go through Hive's backend to Google Gemini. Family context is included if you allow it. Siri requests are handled by Apple's services.

Your account and shared records

You can delete your account in the app's Settings. This does not automatically erase every record in a shared Hive. For help removing shared records or making a data request, contact support@hivefamilyapp.com.
